Going Public - Statement

I’ve had a few comments about my attitude towards Alan’s death, which I need to address. I can assure you that I was as shocked and saddened as everyone else to learn of Alan’s passing. I knew him and worked with him for many years. The circumstances are currently under investigation, and I will post regular updates. I offer my condolences to his wife, Olivia. Alan will be sadly missed.

Also, I am well aware that the bureau is an organisation that relies on secrecy. I’ve had something of a reaction from some members of the public who have misunderstood my intentions, and I would like to apologise for this. I appreciate those of you who may say that I am in a position of trust and I should not post information in public fora, particularly of a personal nature. All I can say is that at this moment, as difficult as it may be, it is in the public interest to get the truth into the public domain as it happens. By reading, you are helping raise much-needed awareness of a developing situation.

Thank you
Sarah
